Adrian Holme lectures in visual theory and art history on the BA Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts and on the BA Illustration and BA Printmaking courses at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Maidstone.

With an academic background in art and biology, Adrian has interdisciplinary research interests in art, science and culture. He is the lead academic on the UCA Art, Science & Culture Research Cluster.

Adrian’s main current academic research interests concern the parallel histories and philosophies of art, science and culture. Other research interests include:
· ‘Art as ontogeny’ (St Martins MA research paper, 2005)
· Pedagogic implications of cross-disciplinary work in art, science and culture.

Adrian is a practising artist, primarily in the fields of performance and installation art and has regularly exhibited work over the past 18 years. Recent works included a solo performance in September 2008 ‘London’s Golden Builders (Blake)’ in ‘////From the Picturesque to the Demolished//’ (group show curated with Jon Purnell and Julika Gittner), Railway Tavern, Stratford E15. ‘The Cultured Crow,’ a solo piece first performed at ‘Magical Thinking,’ Elevator Gallery, Hackney Wick, London, October 2007 is also the subject of a collaboration with photographer Andrea Muendelein. Adrian showed digital prints in the group show Step in the Foyer of Camberwell College of Art, December 2008. He is a member of the Limehouse Arts Foundation where he maintains a studio.
